Interview with Jenny:

1. Which school have you decided to attend and why?

I decided to attend the University Wisconsin-Milwaukee. I wanted to stay in the state of Wisconsin and somewhat close to home. I believe that I best fit in with the program in Milwaukee. The coaching staff is very considerate and they know the game of basketball very well. I think that they will take care of me and form me into an even better player than what I am now. I also enjoyed seeing how much chemistry the players have and that was a big part of my decision as well!

2.  What other schools did you consider?

I considered UW-Green Bay quite a bit considering it was a D1 college in the state of Wisconsin. I also considered some D2's.

3.  What are your goals for the 2013-2014 school season?

My goals for the 2013-2014 season is to have an undefeated season leading to a conference championship, regional championship, sectional championship and even a state championship. We believe that it is possible to get the gold and we're going to be fighting for another gold ball.

The benefits of playing with Team Wisconsin are that I was able to play with some of the best players in the state. I also had the chance to be coached by some phenomenal coaches who coach at the high school and college level. These coaches have taught me things that I will keep in my game. .

6.  What was your favorite Team Wisconsin memory/experience?

My favorite memory was going down to Orlando, Florida in the summer of 2013. We played many great teams and the experience was so much fun with all my teammates with me.

7.  What advice do you have for younger basketball players:

Keep working hard. Many times you will think that it's not helping but in the long run it will. Take advantage of the opportunities that you have playing because before you know it, it will be over.

Congratulations to Jenny and to the UW Milwaukee Panthers!!

Mallie Doucette Signs to Minnesota State University Moorhead

12/01/2013, 5:45pm CST
By Team Wisconsin

Mallie Doucette of Colfax has signed a National Letter of Intent to MSU-Moorhead, an NCAA Division II institution in the very strong Northern Sun Conference.   Mallie is a long time Team Wisconsin player, playing in the program since at least 5th grade.

Last year, Mallie Doucette led Colfax to a WIAA Division IV 2nd Place trophy. Mallie averaged 11 points, 5 rebounds, 2 assists and 2 steals her Junior season.  She is an All-state, First-Team All-Northwest and First-team All-Dunn St Croix Conference player.

The Doucette family has had a tremendous impact on the Team Wisconsin/Viking Club program through the years.  All three daughters, Courtney, Sammy and Mallie, played throughout the youth and high school careers, along with Joe Doucette coaching many of those teams.  Tracy and Joe Doucette are selfless supporters who have gone the extra mile, time after time, for the Team Wisconsin program.  We are truly blessed to have the Doucette's support over the years. Thank you!

Interview with Mallie Doucette:

1.Which school have you decided to attend and why?

I decided to attend Minnesota State Moorhead.  I chose this school because of my love for basketball and my dream to play at the next level.  Moorhead seemed like a good fit for me, the coaches were awesome and they treated me very well. I’m excited to play for them next year.

2.  What other schools did you consider?

I always tried to keep my options open for the other colleges.  I had a couple opportunities to visit some smaller D3 schools such as UW-Superior, UW-Oshkosh, and Wisconsin Lutheran College, and some other D2 schools such as Winona and I originally considered Mankato but never had the chance to pursue that.

3.  What are your goals for the 2013-2014 school season?
Our first goal, as a team, is definitely to be conference champions.  If we are fortunate enough to achieve that then we just keep moving down the latter, such as regional champs, sectional champs exc.  My dream is to be a state champion.  I'm determined to share that with my team and my dad especially.  I love my team and coach more than anything and am prepared to do anything to help us get there.

4.  How long have you played in the Team Wisconsin program?
I think I've played in the Team Wisconsin program since 5th grade.  I'm not 100% sure but it has been a long time, and it was an amazing experience.  I wish I had another year to play.

5.  What were the benefits of playing with Team Wisconsin?
Team Wisconsin has definitely been the basis of all of my greatest memories.  I've met my closest friends playing on that team.  It developed me not only as a basketball player but as a person.  They taught me to put others first and to give it my all and have fun with the game.

6.  What was your favorite Team Wisconsin memory/experience?
To be completely honest I can't pick just one.  One that definitely is at the top of my list is going to Chicago with my team in the summer of 2012.  That was one of the best basketball trips I've ever been on.  I loved every single one of my teammates and my coach and I wish I could do it all over again. We all laughed the entire time and played some great basketball.  Those girls were amazing people.

7.  What advice do you have for younger basketball players:

That people are going to be expecting a lot from you.  Don't ever take this game for granted, I wish I could start my career all over again.  Drink it all in and cherish it, these are going to be the best times of your life enjoy them while you have them because they go by very, very quickly.  Don't let anyone hold you back, if you work hard it will show; basketball is a very humbling sport, if you don't put time in it will show on the court.  But always remember to have fun playing the sport you love.

Best of luck to Mallie during her senior season and next season as a Dragon!
